WebEx Pilot for Student Use

WebEx is a real-time, collaborative web meeting and conferencing tool. All Cornell faculty and staff with a NetID can use this service at no cost, and starting this summer, a limited number of students will also be able to–a pilot is launching that will allow several hundred students access to WebEx for use in their coursework.

Pilot access for students needs to be requested by a faculty member. After the request is made, depending on the availability of pilot licenses, an account will be provisioned. Spots in the pilot are first come, first serve, and licenses are limited.

Pilot accounts will be active until December 2013, at which point a decision will be made on the usefulness of student access to WebEx. To find out more, please contact Academic Technologies at atc_support@cornell.edu.

Maple Licensing Renewal Notice 2013

It is time to renew Cornell University’s volume license for Maple.

Please note that this is for a renewal of existing Maple licenses. If you are interested in a new Maple license, you may request a quote at tclicensing@cornell.edu.

CU Software needs to know your license requirements for the 2013-14 license period. We are asking that you place a pre-order using the CU Software licensing site to provide a firm commitment to purchase the number of licenses you indicate. You will need a valid department account number to place your pre-order.

Pre-order deadline: May 30, 2013
Estimated per license price range: $170 to $190
License period: June 24, 2013 to June 23, 2014

If the final pricing falls within or under this range, your pre-order will be converted into an actual order and your account will be billed. If the price turns out to be higher than expected, you will be given the opportunity to cancel before the order is processed.

To renew your current license or to commit to purchasing new licenses, please use the CU Software Licensing Site at licensing.store.cornell.edu/Category/69-software-pre-order.aspx.

You save money by pre-ordering. The price for licensing products is based on the number of users on campus, and the pre-order process allows us to negotiate the best possible price for you. The more pre-orders we receive before the deadline, the lower the final per-user price will be. Users who participate in the pre-order process receive a lower price than those who purchase licenses after the renewal is completed.

NOTE: Please do not order other licensing items in the same order as this pre-order item.

If you have questions or concerns about the license renewal process, please contact this office directly via e-mail at TCLICENSING@CORNELL.EDU or by phone at 607-255-4941.

Thanks so much for your cooperation and feedback!
